After learning of this distributor not too long ago, we decided to test it in our Werks 11 E Production 914 race car. The results were so good, we (Werks 11) have since decided to use them on almost all 914, 912, and 356 engine builds. We also love the 6 cylinder version for our 911 engine builds!

Clarification of item 10 would help. I assume it refers to setting the static timing at 5 btdc for curve 6 in my case, but am not sure. Jerry good point! Item 10 is for setting static time from TDC on the compression stroke. It should get you close enough to start the motor. Final settings with a timing light are expected once it is warmed up as mentionined in 12. Regarding item 12 this is where you dial in the timing. In your case you take the motor to 3100 rpm. Put the timing light on it. If it is not reading 30 degrees then adjust or turn the distributor until it does. The 5 degrees should be reflected in what the all in advance is set at. Hope this helps Ed

Installed 123 4-R-V to replace original Bosch distributor in 2015 for vintage racing. It has performed flawlessly ! Received 2nd unit last week; to be installed in a 1720cc engine for my Outlaw Coupe project. Expect similar results !
