      blue tooth distributer

      could not get it to start let down with a 500. distributor that has aluminum contacts, not brass. David Sorry you did not get the unit to work. You can call for assistance. Often it is just far enough out of time to tick over or the TDC was set to the exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke. Additionally the use of resistor plugs and resistance in the primary can cause a weak spark. We will help if we can. Keep in mind the distributor has a two yr warranty. Hope this helps Ed

      The best, tune on the fly, rev limiter, for some reason my OE dizzy failed after a carb swap, brand new oe is impossible to find. Only thing I had a hard time is wiring as the instruction is for general wiring, for a 1975 280Z the dizzy module by the passenger footwell must also be bypassed. Been running for more than a year with my triple mikuni 40 without a problem. Thanks for your review Roland. Much appreciated. Ed

      Poor quality, Fit is poor, Poor construction quality, Cap is shit! Depth of shaft is too short. Has a 1/4 in play in the shaft when turning. Really hard to fine tune timing when it's this far off. The other problem is its too short so it's only catching by 1/16 of an inch to the engine. For $600 I would expect a lot more ! Luke We do take your review seriously and strive to help correct any issues. We issued a return label for you. When your product arrived we did find the cap was defective. The spring that holds the carbon button in place was non functional and repaired. We also replaced the center mainshaft with a longer shaft to address the issue you were experiencing. As for the rotor the mfg booklet makes the following statement which should help negate any excess. If your rotor arm rotates CW: rotate the unit CCW until the green LED just lights up. Press the rotor in CCW direction, to remove any backlash in the drive. If your rotor arm rotates CCW: rotate the unit CW until the green LED just lights up. Press the rotor in CW direction, to remove any backlash in the drive. The LED shines through one of the holes in the aluminium disc below the rotor. Hope this helps Ed

      123 distributor

      I was on the fence for quite awhile about this distributor. I replaced my Mallory unilite in my Datsun 240z with the 123 unit and I must say that my car starts better now and runs very well. I was having some detonation issues with the Mallory and that is now no longer a problem. Love that I can change the advance curve so easily too.

      123ignition tune+

      This is the 3rd one Ive purchased, 2nd one for a 240Z. INstallation was smooth. Still converted the resistor rotor to a non resistor rotor by dremeling out the resistor and soldering a 12g wire and coating with silicone. My alternator puts out 15v but it doesnt seem to be a problem Tried a ballast resistor but I didnt like the voltage flucuations ( down to 11v) Going to fabricate a non-ballast resitor to get the voltage down to 13-14v. Nice thing is even with the high voltage the coil stays cool. THe points/condensor was frying coils with this voltage.

      So far so good. Runs very good. Upon installation and epoxy coil, Tach was jumping all over the place. Replaced Epoxy coil with stock coil, Tach back to normal and all running good.

      Price Justified

      This morning my son woke me up with the news that our beloved Datsun was missing from the driveway. We immediately filed a police report and after that decided to go drive around see if we can spot it because immobilizer on the 123 ignition was enabled. We knew that the car could not be driven away without one of our phones. We spotted the car abandoned half a mile downhill from the house with the hood open. Upon closer look we found number of wires cut in the ignition system. Thief assumed that the car wasn't starting due to a kill switch so they cut the number of wires and made a real mess of it. We are so glad that we spent the money on this product. Just its security feature is worth the money. We were blown away with its performance initially but after seeing the security feature in action our purchase was validated. Strongly recommend this product.

      working excellent. Installed and running in just a few minutes. Old distributor was worn out. Running MSD 6AL. Comp Cam. Triple Webers. Very happy with the way the car runs and sounds. Thanks Tony, Remember to wire in the 123ignition as if it were a points style distributor when using an MSD box.

      installed very easily. Had the car running within a few minutes. Very simple app. Set my initial timing at 10 degrees btdc using a timing light. All other adjustments made thru the App. Get you one. 240z in Dallas Texas. Thanks Tony Don't forget if you build in a static time as you did, you will need to add that number to what is showing in your app to know the correct timing your motor is. Hope this helps Ed

      Excellent distributor

      Got this as I wanted to replace old distributor. Replacement ones were pricy for used ones, so was looking for a new replacement and found this. Works awesome. Documentation can be difficult do decipher, and getting the pin set and first curve set loaded can take a few tries, but totally worth it. At car gatherings I get to show off this cool distributor, and recommend it to fellow car enthusiasts.

      123 Ignition for Datsun 240z

      I recently bought this upgraded distributor which was replacing my old distributor with an aftermarket fireball ignition controller. This is on a 1972 240z with an L26. The install was pretty easy to do. Wiring and mounting was a cake walk. However the instructions are totally wrong with how you have to line up the green light. Just ignore that entirely and use a timing light to get your timing lined up correctly. Once you do that and load up your timing table it works perfectly. I like the kill switch enabler on the iphone as well. Pretty cool product and super easy to make adjustments. Customer service was great too getting me a black cap instead of a red one as pictured. Also note the nodes on the cap do fit the upgraded taylor thundervolt 10.4 wires. Will see how it holds up to the heat but first few days are good and it drives better than before with this setup.

      Nice bit of kit

      I was looking for a way to have GPS MPH, voltage display and be able to tune my 240Z more easily. I was running a Mallory electronic distributor, but with mechanical advance timing. Once I installed the 123 Tune+ and connected the Bluetooth app the car ran better with a simple Advance curve. I'm not 'pinging' on regular gas, and it seems quite nippy around town and accelerating to highway speeds. I'm sure it will only get better as I learn how to tune it correctly. 5 Stars, for the app display and "tune on the fly".
