Please note: The gear of this distributor makes the unit turn clockwise. The newer type M10 (as is used in BMW E21 after 1978) turns counter-clockwise. You will need to swap over your old gear. No worries the electronics in the 123 will work for either CW or CCW distributors.

The product appears to be well made. The shipping was fast and well packed. Instalation appears very simple. Directions are very simple.
The 123ignition TUNE+ 4-R-V-BMW (Bluetooth programmable version) performs as advertised on a 1973 BMW 2002tii. The engine is running better following installation of the 123ignition TUNE+ 4-R-V-BMW and companion Bosch Blue coil. The distributor is programmed to match the original factory specifications. The engine revs more readily, pulls better through the RPM range, reaches 5000 RPM with less effort, idles more consistently, plus engine temperature is lower. It’s amazing how correct ignition and timing impact engine performance to this degree. * Note: It is necessary to establish at least one point on the timing curve with a timing light. Thereafter, the timing curve that is programmed into the 123ignition distributor will be correctly positioned on the X-axis of the graph. On a 1973 BMW 2002tii, that point is 2,700 rpm at 25 degrees, which is BMW’s only specification for dynamic timing on this particular car (all other points on a timing curve which are built into a mechanical advance distributor, or programmed into an electronic distributor) are indexed against this reference point). It is unfortunate that this important step is omitted in the published installation instructions for the 123ignition.

Easy setup, worth every penny.
This is by far the best upgrade I've ever made to my '71 BMW 2002. Worth every penny! The car runs better than ever and picks up speed faster than it did before. My experience may be different than others' since my previous distributor had a faulty vacuum dash pot so it wasn't running well prior to installing the 123 Ignition. Regardless, the Bluetooth options and ease of use (and not having to deal with points) make this distributor a huge improvement!
