From time to time due to increased crankcase back pressure a 123ignition may see oil being introduced into the PCB area. This condition is often caused by cracked rings or some catastrophic engine failure and must be addressed. It is possible to save the 123 with a good cleaning and replacing the bottom bushing and seal. However it is not guaranteed as microscopic metal from the oil can foul the pcb beyond repair. This kit is for the do it yourself mechanic.
We have modified a new shaft patterned after the original Bmw shaft with the reverse oil groove. It is our goal that with this design change and the new seal and bushing oil intrusion will be greatly reduced if not eliminated. But is not guarranteed.
